TONY'S PIZZA

Patricia & Anthony “Tony” Martinez moved to Delano, CA in 1973. Patricia was a surgical technician and Tony was the general manager of Thrifty Drug Store. After a pizza parlor next to Thrifty’s closed down in 1978, Tony and Patricia decided to embark on a journey that would give this parlor a new life. Before this could be done, however, they needed to find the perfect recipe. So, they met with their italian friends Danny & Lucy Ditri from Mountain View, CA. Danny and Lucy were the proud owners of their own restaurant, where they served New York style pizza to their customers. Using their secret family recipe, Danny and Lucy trained Tony and Patricia, so that they too could serve it to those in their community. After adding their own personal touch, Tony and Patricia, used this recipe to bring “Tony’s Pizza” to life in 1979. This legacy has been carried on by their children, with the opening of numerous locations throughout Kern and Tulare county.
